16 year old Alex Knoll is a tech founder and international speaker with a passion for helping others. He has been featured on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, BBC, Irish Times, NBC Nightly News, Sky News & many more.

Alex developed Ability App, a global crowd-sourced app that helps people with disabilities and caregivers search for specific accessible and inclusive features at locations around the world.

Most recently, Alex was awarded The Diana Award, given out by the charity of the same name with the support of The Duke of Cambridge and The Duke of Sussex, and was created to honor Princess Diana's work while inspiring others to action.

Alex was just 9 years old when he saw a man in a wheelchair struggling to open a door. He wondered if there was an app available that might have told that man what other stores around the area had automatic doors. He did some research and couldn't find an app like that, so he started creating one.

Alex entered Ability App into a student invention competition, called Invent Idaho. He won that competition, along with the Discovery 3M Young Scientist's Challenge for the State of Idaho, and the Global AT&T Inventor's Challenge.

Alex was able to further the development of Ability App after he received a check from Shutterfly and The Ellen DeGeneres show for $25,000. Ability App launched May 1, 2020.

Alex volunteers his free-time working on Ability App and advocating for accessibility and inclusion of people with disabilities.
